Mayor Brandon Scott kicked off his 90-day service sprint early this year, and the Baltimore City Department of Transportation is right there with him. https://buff.ly/W2EU1TN Over the course of the sprint, the Department of Transportation will pave 25 lane miles of road and fill 25,000 potholes, addressing damage from this winter's extended cold snap and heavy snow and ice. Citywide sprint goals: 🛣️ 25 lane miles of paving 🕳️ 25,000 potholes filled 🌳 500 tree pits cleaned, weeded and mulched 🧹 25,000 miles of road swept 🗑️ 12,000 bulk waste pickups 🎨 6,000 graffiti removals The kickoff began in Coldstream Homestead Montebello, where the mayor joined city crews to board vacant homes and remove graffiti. 📞 See a road issue in your neighborhood? The Cecil Elementary Safe Routes to School project has hit its first major design milestone, completing 30% design. Our team has been meeting with the school administration, presenting to the Greater Greenmount Community Association, and doorknocking with Councilman Jones. The design includes a raised crosswalk at the school entrance, new ADA ramps and bump outs at intersections, an elevated bus stop at 22nd & Kirk, and converting Cecil Ave from 22nd to 20th to a one-way southbound street with angled parking. Starting tomorrow, Friday, April 17 at 9:00 a.m., two southbound lanes will be closed between the 29th Street access ramp and Guilford Avenue through approximately 11:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19.
